This is a really great textbooks that provides a guide to the major genres of academic writing that undergraduates will need in composition courses and when they begin writing in their majors. Each genre has its own chapter, which includes information about the genre, guidelines on how to write to fit that genre, and student examples. There are additional examples for each genre included in the readings, as well as questions at the end of the chapter to facilitate discussion of the material and even to serve as (brief) assignment prompts. I really like that this text also includes MLA and APA style and citation guides and a section on proper grammar and mechanic--I find that most of my students either need a refresher or have never been taught this information previously. I assign this text for Composition I (university level), and we use about 2/3 of the genres during the semester. I know that most of my students probably resell the book the second exams are finished, but several students have told me that they have used the text to help them in their other classes. I also try to stress to them that this book is a valuable references for their other classes as well because most of genres we don't cover in Composition I will come up in Composition II or WAC. (I copy-to-PDf and assign portions of this text for Composition II and WAC as well.) There are also sections on writing resumes and cover letters, which I know all of my students will need in the near future.
Great text book! Excellent delivery as well. I needed this book right away for school and it was shipped promptly and I had it in time for my class. The book was also easy to read and understand. I recommend this book for writing classes, it definitely helped me.
The only problem is the rental period is short of the actual semester so it automatically sets you up to "extend" the rental period.
I recieved my book without and access code, my package was opened with out the supplemental items
I didn't see any helpful tools in this book for the assignments that was given. Google website was more helpful, want to return if possible for a refund.

The book was required reading for my college English class but it was a tough read. Not interesting but was informative.
Rental system works and I received the book with little to no damage at all
