As a non-warrior wife, I found this book to be relevant to my marriage. I am humbled to read about the struggles our military families have to face. It takes a truly special person to join the military, and a wonderful spouse to "soldier on" behind them with love and support. Excellent book!
Good morning everyone! Hope you're having a good start to your day. I have been given Warrior Wife to review. This one brought back so many memories for me as I am a NAVY wife. As I was reading this book there was a lot of good advice contained within the pages. I wish I had opportunity to read this early in the days of deployment. I found these difficult times as I was in another state from friends and family. I had new friends to make and they would become my family away from my family where I am from. I had one motto if you will with my husband it is this. Stand firm to the battle waged against you. Together as a couple, you need to support each other. No matter the challenges you both face standing firm with one another will give you the strength you need to get through the deployments. The toughest deployment for us was when my husband was called to war. The fear that tears through you as you say your goodbyes; ours were see you soon. The scary times of when the flag comes to your door. I had the flag come to my door twice; no it wasn't for my husband,but it was because someone wanted to do harm. These were some of the things we faced, others didn't know. I found this book a good read, hope you take to!e to read it yourself. Thanks for stopping by.
As a Christian military spouse that's read numerous books of this kind, this book is the one that I will keep bedside to refer back to during difficult times. Marriage is hard enough without the add on of military service. This book identifies the main (and even some extra) areas of struggle and gives us God honoring encouragement on how to overcome them. Some of those categories are: when it doesn't seem worth it, when plan is a four letter word and to everything there is a season. There are difficulties she covers that I thought were unique to me and my own person struggles but she lovingly covers them and lets you know you're not alone. Throughout the book there are additional testimonies to struggles from other military spouses that have overcome the specific difficulty and thrived. This is a book that will not only give you answers, it will give you specific examples of others that have traversed the same territory. If you are a military spouse, this is a must read.
This book was amazing! The way Hillary Sigrist described being a military wife was spot on. I may not be a military wife but being with someone in the military gives me a view of what it is like. This book gave me much needed hope and courage for the future events in life. Marriage, deployments, emotions, promotions, pcs-ing, and parenting are just a few subjects the book talks about. The bible is referenced a lot in the book but I didn't mind it at all, I actually really enjoyed it. I highly recommend this book for anyone who is with a member of the military or if you just want to know more about the life of a military wife! This book was wonderful!! I couldn't put it down, I read the whole thing in one night. I am a seasoned Warrior Wife and now Veteran Wife. Having a husband in a Special Operations Unit is not a walk in park but it also comes with many blessings! This book was a huge blessing to me. When reading this book I felt like someone had reached into my soul and put it on paper. I also saw new perspectives on things I didn't experience personally. It made me giggle and cry and everything in between. Oh how I wish I had been able to read it way back when I was a rookie Warrior Wife.
Although I am not a Warrior Wife, I found many practical and Biblical words of wisdom, that can help any marriage, contained in these pages.Thank you, Hillary, for being transparent in your walk and helping many Warrior Wives to learn through your own hard-learned lessons!
Loved this book! It was so real and incredibly encouraging. Having been through many of the struggles discussed in the book I found much comfort in knowing I'm not alone and that these struggles will not overwhelm me. I will be gifting this book to many friends and new warrior wives.
