This is one amazing woman. I admire her.I gave this five stars simply for Ms Kyle's candidness, and for capturing what it was like to be married to American hero SEAL sniper Chris Kyle. I was captivated from beginning to end. She gets very personal in this memoir, revealing quite a bit.. She is a brave person to open herself up to vulnerability describing her range of emotions surrounding her marriage to Chris, his murder, the aftermath, and how she struggles to cope....even still. If you're looking for an award-winning piece of literature, this is not necessarily it; however, it is well written and executed. It is an honest look at the life of a truly broken-hearted widow: How she dealt with the loss and how she forges ahead.I became quite intrigued with Taya's story as I read her late husband's book American Sniper and was eagerly anticipating this release. Reading this book I felt Taya's joy and pain (there's plenty of it). She did a great job painting a picture of what it was like to be married to a SEAL, the most famous SEAL in American history at that. I loved the detail she added, including the random incidents that were funny, sad, exciting, heart-warming, sweet, annoying, etc. I feel like I really got to know her as well as Chris. Though they experienced many bumps along the way, their marriage was solid and wonderful; you could tell they were totally in love with each other. I am quite envious, actually. I would love to find someone even half as dedicated, committed, and thoughtful as Chris. :-/ My heart breaks for her loss, which she admits she still isn't over. And I don't blame her one bit. I can't even imagine what she has experienced both during and after her beloved's death.
