As an inveterate intermediate level student who does not live in a Spanish speaking environment, my schedule does not permit long periods of time to drill down on tenses and styles. This book (I have it on Kindle) is similar to others of Iris Acevedo in that it provides short, entertaining, easily accessible vignettes that build intuitive familiarity with phrases and conversational idioms. I am still a student, but Sra. Acevedo's various publications are making that slow learning process more enjoyable and I believe more effective.
The stories are relavent to today and have a nice twist in the plot that makes the student think, however, for it to be perfect I would have liked it to have had a vocabulary index and a question section at the end of each reading. I do this before assigning the reading.
I very much enjoyed reading these informative essays and improved my Spanish vocabulary in the process.
