I have the original version of this book (God's word for the Biblically Inept) I use it all the time when I read the Bible. I recently bought it for some friends who want it for personal use as well as for teaching the teens in our church. It's a fun approach to the Bible
I found this book for $5.00 in Family Dollar today. So far, I have really enjoyed reading it. I can't put it down. It explains the Bible so simply that almost anyone should be able to understand it. It provides that background knowledge of the Bible that most of us may not get by reading the Bible on our own. I highly recommend it for those who want to understand the Bible better.

This is an easy-to-read overview of the entire bible. Larry Richards does a good job, as he almost always does in his other books (200 or so of them?). I give this as a gift to people who express a lack of understanding of the bible, but would like to know more.Larry was my Sunday School teacher in Hudson FL in the early 2000s. He is a very engaging teacher, and that same enthusiasm and thorough preparation are clearly seen in whatever he does.
This is a good, simple book to assist you on the overall basic layout of the Holy Bible. It's a great aid when witnessing and gives the over all essence of each book and gives reference and support information. Like it says, It the Smart Guide to the Bible.
Overall a good way to get a clear and concise understanding of each book of the Bible. Many good charts, wish there were more maps.
This book is a great source for anyone wanting to read through the Bible.The author summarizes what is actually written more than providing his opinions.The Bible is obviously the final word, but this book helps tremendously to help keep focused.
I have learned so much from this book. It puts all of the first 5 books into sequence, explains what is happening in chronological order even whatis happening in other parts of the world at the time these issues are taking place. Very, very incite-full.
