This book is terrific for those who think Lyme is something somebody back east somewhere gets and it isn't really a big deal. Until THEY outside of the Eastern seaboard come up with symptoms they THOUGHT was a flu or something - that morphed...and morphed then they were fine then it came back etc etc.It is written evenly and well done. It is not a book showing the gruesome details BUT will get you to REAL HELP if you haven't been diagnosed with Lyme by trained physicians, or if you even suspect you might have Lyme or SOMETHING because if you're ill you've easily gone to nine different doctors for a range of symptoms and have gotten nine different diagnoses -for women, mostly "it's all in your head."-and are looking for SOMEONE to make sense of why you're so tired all the time or your knees are swelling or you have constant headaches or even migraines and then something else then you're fine but you can't really totally get out of a funny "brain fog" and you might even start mixing your words up or losing your short term memory some other time, PAIN that seems to move HERE then THERE and Drs can't find anything wrong with you... This book simply details what has worked for people with Lyme before you- there is an entire network out there of patient advocates as the CDC reports that 30,000 people a year get it they "know of" but think really in reality 300,000 a year get it in the US.I would recommend this book for those who are sick of being sick and don't know why-because it MIGHT BE LYME some bird brought to YOUR bird feeder and dropped off a tick filled with infected just hatching ticks someone spots on you or you even never see (poppy-sized black thing) or knew was even there on your body or that you even GOT bitten...
