When you prepare for the CPNE, the instructors are so busy getting you to think it is easy that, they skip details that can trip you up. This author uncovers the details and straightens out the mystery of Diagnostic Labels. The nursing diagnostic and collaborative distinctions are clearly stated. There are exercises at the end of it as well. The companion site has great (GREAT) information on it. The author gives reasons why different diagnosis are right or wrong. She is just like a teacher standing right beside you directing you the whole way.To me she is the best pre writer to set up diagnosis. I read 6 of the Nursing Diagnosis books preparing for the CPNE, because you have to score 100 on the test in order to pass (UNBELIEVABLE). It is difficult to see the layout for the nursing diagnosis online, but it goes like this: Diagnostic Label and correctly stated diagnostic label statements, Nanda 1 Definition, Defining Characteristics with major and minor parameters, Related Factors, Pathophysiologic applications for each body system that applies, treatments that are related, situational, maturational etc, Author's Notes, General application errors for the diagnostic label, Key concepts, lifespan considerations, focus assessments, tables that define which signs and symptoms parameters apply, assessments that are objective and subjective, goals and interventions. Then it shows nuances that reflect different major situations for the same label.I love the book it is a one stop shop.

I can't tell you how many times I've used this book for clinical paperwork. It's not the most amazingly organized book, and some nursing diagnosis may be out of date, but I have used it over and over and over again and I can't tell you how much it's helped.

As a 1st year nursing student I don't have a rolodex of nursing diagnoses in my head. Carpenito's book is laid out in such a way that you can easily and properly identify diagnoses that make writing nursing care plans a breeze!

This book is really bad compared to a lot of nursing diagnosis books. Don't get it because if you do your wasting your time trying to find things fast. No has got time trying to look through all of it. It feels completley un-organized. No one has time especially in nursing school to look through this book. Honestly hate this book.

I needed this book for my nursing classes and was very helpful. The shipping was fast and the price of the book was affordable. The packaging protected the book and was easy to open. The item came as it was described.

this book takes awhile to figure out---but honestly it has helped me learned to write 3 part nursing dx efficiently and well!! I really like this book and would recommend it to anyone starting nursing school!

Fantastic book. I used it for every patient I saw in clinicals. The nursing diagnoses are spot on and the interventions are a huge time saver.

This is an excellent nursing diagnosis book for nursing students to use through a nursing program. It has relevant and easily explained rationales for a myriad of interventions.
