I bought this book after my daughter broke a metacarpal bone in her right hand. The orthopedic surgeon recommended surgery to screw a plate onto the bone to hold it in position. it was a borderline case and this book really helped to support our decision against the procedure.The book does have its share of medical lingo, but there are plenty of illustrations and photos, concise summaries, and bullet point lists to make it accessible even to readers without medical background.
