Excellent Road Atlas. The maps in this book are highly detailed down to dirt roads. The layout is very easy to navigate. The first page shows the entire state broken down by the page numbers. Easy to use and accurate. Good as a GPS supplement. You cant go wrong having one of these in your vehicle as a backup in case you GPS fails. Obviously, the specialized focus on one state allows the maps to cover much more detail than one of the national road atlases which only allocate 1 or two pages to each state... Worth buying. I keep a national atlas and this state specific atlas in my car at all times. I highly recommend this road atlas. Buy one for you state!

If you are a paddler, fisherman, hiker, camper skier or just plain outdoor enthusiast, this is the guide for you. In addition to pages of topographic maps which cover the entire state, the atlas also includes an index of all outdoor recreational activities and the recreational areas that support each. Complete listings of NJ golf courses, ski areas, scenic drives & trails, wildlife viewing areas, hunting & fishing areas and a very comprehensive list of public and private campgrounds make this a reference you will want to have to plan your next NJ outdoor adventure.Although this is not a collection of street maps, some street maps of larger cities such as Trenton, Jersey City, Newark, Camden, Elizabeth, Hackensack, Paterson and Atlantic City are included.

Because most of my in-laws live right across the Delaware River from New Jersey I've had ample opportunity to visit the state when I've gone there with my wife each summer. This atlas and gazetteer has come in handy. Not just the main highways, but secondary roads, including gravel and dirt roads, are shown. This makes it possible to find time-saving shortcuts to various places, as well as locating out-of-the-way places that aren't even found on the typical roadmap. Plus, state parks are noted, as are many other points of interest. Topographical features are clearly shown, and because of the scale of the maps, even the smallest streams and ponds are shown as well. This is an essential atlas to have around if you're planning on doing any serious exploring of New Jersey.

Got me to Cape May and back with no hiccups, sure beats GPS! Got one for Massachusetts too and love it. Got that one on the road because the GPS failed, maybe the I-phone will have a better GPS, but I will always carry a paper map!

I've used Delorme state maps for many years. They are great to keep in your vehicle as a backup for when your electronic navigation fails or if your GPS is trying to take you on a dumb route. The list of parks, historic sites, camping, etc are also great. The only reason I am giving it 4 stars because the latest copy write date is 2005. I checked Delorme's site and this is the most recent edition. I hated to buy a 10 year old map, but I really needed it.

I used the maps in this book (along with the MD-DE book and the PA book) to plan out an awesome backroads road trip. With this you can easily find the parts of New Jersey that make it the Garden State!

DO NOT BUY THIS!!! Mine had multiple pages missing and many duplicate pages. Now I'm having a hell of a time returning it because it's older than 30 days. Who thinks of checking every page on a book of maps? Not happy at all.

I am from Massachusetts and I have used the Gazeteers before when bird hunting in Northern Maine along the Golden Road. It is an invaluable tool for not getting lost. I have been deer hunting in New Jersey for a few years, so I decided to try one for that state also. They are a big help in identifying new areas to hunt and how to get to them.
