I use a Garmin GPS when traveling in new areas but I always like to look a paper map before I go so if I hit a detour or some other common problem, I know the general layout and can react. It's also easier to plan a trip looking at a paper map vs a screen image. Finding paper maps is increasingly difficult, so I was happy to see this product, got it, and it works.I love my GPS unit and recommend them highly, but, (1.) while they are right about 95% of the time, they are terribly, terribly wrong about 5% of the time, taking you far afield for no apparent reason or to a completely wrong place, so if you haven't looked at a regular map, you will just cheerfully be delivered to the lions and wake up screwed; and, (2.) in general, I think there cam be be repercussions with everyone using GPS units since you get there without actually knowing how you did it, you have no idea where you are, and you miss something. Not only do you miss the ability to react quickly if a problem arises, you don't learn about the area, your options, etc. I won't give up my GPS but I won't give up using maps, either! And if terrorists ever manage to cripple our GPS satellites some day, I'll be fine, everyone else will be lost and dazed!I usually prefer American Maps to Rand McNally, but American Maps seems to have disappeared, and this Rand McNally is fine.
Bought this for Aged Mother so she could see where she is now living. She loves it...toodles around on it to find where stores are and where friends came from. Nice map, folds up small, easy for aged eyes to see.
I bought this to get a good look at the area around Logan Airport where I got so lost I had to hire a taxi to lead me to my hotel. This map has an okay view of the area but doesn't use the name the hotel uses for 1A.
I moved to MA 6 months ago. I use GPS to move around but I realized I will get lost anytime I do not turn it on so it was time to know where I am and where I want to go not to loose track.If you want to know your location you need a map. GPS will help you to go to places but if you wanna go there by yourself you gotta get one map and study it before departure.
Nice map which clearly shows the state as a whole, and also has small "window" views of some of the more popular areas. Also includes driving distances between popular cities.
What can one say about a map, except it is what it is. Needed it for some travel and this was the easiest and best place to get it.
It only shows half of the state on a side. This is really annoying if you are looking for areas around the center of the state
Did a trip to MASS from CT to a different place I have not traveled and between it and my GPS it went well , and the map helped a lot
