It's a beautiful map. I bought it to help me with genealogy research. Not only does it have Germany but the parts of the Netherlands and France that my ancestors came from. It is detailed enough I can find their home towns. I didn't know that one of my ancestors lived near the Black Forest or that one came from East Frisia. 3 lived near each other in the Netherlands. It has a lot of interesting information. I have it on my wall and study it daily.
Map is detailed and the right size for pinning on wall. I use it for travel and genealogy. It's perfect for the size.
I am reading about the experiences of various World War II soldiers and found it helpful to have a map of Germany to refer to when the authors tell about slogging through the heavily fortified Siegfried line and cross various rivers.
We have an older version (1992) and wanted the latest version for ou granddaughter for a school trip she is taking early July to Germany. Her mother says it is simply a great resourse for her and one-upsmanship with her classmates/tripmates!
