The number one reason to consider buying this book is time efficiency. It already contains all the study tables you'd make in a pharmacology class. My lecture notes and this book were sufficient to cover the majority of topics.I used this book for a class. It is much shorter than the Goodman and Gilman textbook. This workbook pulls together critical tables and figures, and posses clinical case studies to review disease mechanisms and drug actions. The answers to the case studies include decision approaches, background theory and alternative considerations, so reading through them is more beneficial that a simple multi-choice question. The tables are excellent - each chapter has a mode of action table at the beginning, other topic specific tables throughout, and a final clinical uses/importance table at the end of each chapter. This is not a traditional textbook - it does not have paragraphs of background info. Everything is formatted in fast bullet points, tables, figures, and case studies.Again, for many topics I found this format perfect and a more efficient use of my time. So, I read this handbook first - every page. And then for some topic areas, I did also strategically read traditional textbooks and online sources. I remember needing to make my own type II diabetes pathology and drug strategy table - since that was not in the book or online anywhere in the format I preferred.
will update again, once I complete it.For now, looked okay.
