I am using my mom's account to make this review as I used her account to order it. I would actually give this product a zero. There are significant errors in the text, and my nursing program was the only program to contact elsevier about it. DO NOT BUY THIS COPY. There is now a revised copy, which is actually selling, but is out of stock. Contact elsevier at 1-800- 525-2252 to buy the corrected copy. The new revised copy's ISBN # is 9781455775651. I REPEAT DO NOT BUY THE COPY YOU ARE READING THE REVIEW FOR. BUY THE NEW REVISED COPY. There are hundreds of significant and important errors in the non-revised copy.
I ordered this study guide because I was having a difficult time in my Med Surg class. The textbook doesn't really contain a lot of practice questions so I wanted to get this study guide to help me study for our exams. While it is filled with lots of questions, the answer key is wrong quite a bit. I don't have time to constantly double check and make sure that the answer key is correct.Until there is an update, with a correct answer key, I would NOT recommend this book to anyone!
I purchased this Clinical Decision-Making Study Guide for Medical Surgical Nursing, School Book for my Daughter that is going to Nursing School.The Book itself is very well made and easy to read. She was also able to save money on her School books by purchasing them through .Because I am a Prime member I was able to save her some extra money on the shipping costs by ordering this book for her. The book came in in excellent shape and was packaged very well. Just like any other learning program they are required to purchase several School Books and if we can save any money on these items we will do what it takes to do so. This workbook is pretty good, but the book would be much more helpful if it contained rationales for the answers.
Highly recommended for any nursing student. The 7th Edition isn't much different from the 8th Edition besides some of the questions being re worded. I would say, save your money and buy the 7th edition instead of the 8th Edition
If you own Medical-Surgical Nursing: Patient-Centered Collaborative Care, Single Volume, 7e then you will really want this study guide to help you prepare for your CLASS exams. I find that is helps me review the chapter well and show me where I need to reevaluate my reading and understanding. This is NOT meant to be a NCLEX prep/review study guide. If you are looking for that type of book I would recommend Saunders Comprehensive Review for the NCLEX-RN Examination, 5th Edition.I would also recommend Clinical Companion for Medical-Surgical Nursing: Patient-Centered Collaborative Care, 7e (Clinical Companion (Elsevier)) to carry to clinical for quick reference. It include intervention, sign/symptoms, overview, descriptions, etc. It is like a mini Iggy and a great resource. It is smaller than the Davis Drug Guide and easily can fit inside a large lunch bag or a tote for clinical.
Its a pretty big study guide. Its as big as the first volume of the book it covers. It has many question formats and does a great job of covering the content in each chapter.Its a great tool for learning the content in the book and prepping for school exams. I don't think its to great for NCLEX prep though. You would be much better off with specific NCLEX resources.
There have been issues where some of the answers the book gives are wrong. Nevertheless, all of the girls in my studygroup have a copy and we use it quiz each other during study sessions. For me, this book has been a good supplement to thetextbook.
