Step parenting is one of the hardest things I've ever done. It's not easy being a step dad and I didn't know what to do. The author of this book does a great job giving you different techniques and strategies to becoming a great step parent. I feel 100 times more comfortable in my abilities to raise my step son now. Highly recommended
I have been trying to built up a strong relationship with my stepson for the last 3 years when me and my husband moved together into our new apartment with Timmi, his 7 years son. I must admit it was very hard at the begging as he couldn’t see me as a mother, he just thought I was his nanny. Step-parenting is usually one of those relationships that can either go really well or really bad, so it is very important for persons in such a situation to have a guide to follow. I myself grow up with a step-mom and it took me a will to adjust to the fact that there was a new ‘mother-like’. Never would I imagine that I would be reading a book about how to be a step mom. I stumbled upon this book, as I had a friend whom was finding ways on the how-to in a systematic approach. So I bought this book and shared with her. I have to say that the content here is practical, as I can see the difference that she has made. Easy to follow book that I recommend for step parenting.
I was having such a difficult time with my step-son, and this book helped me out a lot. I was finally able to develop meaningful methods for connecting and communicating with my step-son. Our relationship has improved drastically, and I feel like he is finally starting to respect me as a mother figure.
