This textbook helped me go through my OB class in nursing school and gave a lot of information on complications in pregnancy and what to expect during the course. It gave a lot of information on what to teach to your patients.

This text is an acceptable general overview of maternity nursing, but if you're trying to find detailed information on A&P, complimentary alternative medicine, or general considerations regarding many issues of newborn and postpartum care, you'll be out of luck. This book touches on subjects, but there's a severe lack of depth on innumerable topics. In fact, this text raises so many questions, that I have needed multiple additional texts and reference works to use the book effectively for class.Aside from content being less than adequate, the index is very poorly constructed, and makes it difficult (to put it mildly) when you're trying to locate information.Perhaps this book would be useful for a class doing a general overview of maternity nursing, but it is not acceptable for a rigorous BSN and/or RN program.

Just check to see if your school library has online access to MedSTAT. This will save you lots of time and textbook money. There were current texts for maternity, peds., etc., and also nursing diagnosis handbooks for those lovely process reports and such we all have to do...

Was required for our maternity course and was helpful in clarifying information already presented by my professor and by additional lecture notes and other reading material. I was disappointed in how it was organized, information was hard to search for unless you read the entire chapter. So, as a reference tool it was horrible, the index often did not direct me to the information I needed. Overall a poorly organized book, but once I found the information I needed it was thorough.

This is a required book by my Nursing program. It is very easy to read and not boring like other nursing books. There are a few typos in the book such as extra letters or even a number within a word, but you probably wouldnt notice if you are regularly reading and not actually analyzing each word.

I had a very good experience with this purchase! Book was STILL in the original shrink wrap! The edges were not bent. Just absolutely thrilled with this purchase, because it was nearly 60% off the school book store price! Thank you.

This is very helpful book and when I purchased it,was able to avail some discount. Furthermore,I love the fact that it arrived so fast.. The used book was packed nicely and the book itself looks new. :)

This book will literally save you hours. It is very well laid out, and a very easy format for self taught students.
