This review is not of the book, but this corrupted reprint. This printing, and the corresponding lady's version are NOT the same as the original, as content has been omitted. My boyfriend and I got these books to learn some more traditional teachings on Christian conduct, and the Christian parts were largely omitted including an entire chapter (Chapter X "Conduct in Church"). The 5 star rating is for the original, but this copy is a major disappointment.

Excellent common sense, advice and direction. No, you probably don't need instruction for assisting a lady to mount her horse or details on the subject of which gloves are appropriate for a particular function at a certain time of day BUT.... knowing the niceties of social interaction and having an idea of what to do in an awkward circumstance may be quite helpful. And, a little knowledge bolsters confidence and confidence puts others at ease which facilitates interaction and enjoyment. In short, the subject message is: "'Be nice' and sincerely nice, too; here's how to do it..." Guys.... you'll be a better "Man"- adult, responsible, kind and courteous if you read the thing and follow his advice. No, it won't be easy but try it.. others will notice.

An excellent read for those who wish to learn to come across as more then just a man. This book while a VERY dry read, is actually full of dos and don'ts fir those who wish to learn.

This book is the absolute guide for gents out there! I'm a woman and I definitely agree with what the author is saying on this book. If you follow these manual, I assure you any woman will appreciate, serve and love you as his man!

I am now suave and polished Thanks MR Hartley

Just not what I thought it was.
