Best book you'll read this year!Oh my God, I just finished this and I'm out of breath. From start to finish, this book impressed me in every way. After 10 pages I couldn't put it down. It starts with this FBI agent in his house in Alaska and he watches on TV as the president shoots his wife dead during the state of the union. Then he has to wrap up the investigation in Washington but then killers are after him.Some of the twists you think you see coming but then it's completely not what you thought. And the action was unbelievable, I say that in a good way! This book is like your favorite James Bond movie with chases and shootouts and great dialogue. It's funny and violent too. One of those books I'll read again.
That's what I'm talking about!My blood was pumping right from the start. It felt like I was watching a movie like Die Hard or Lethal Weapon, well not really but there was the same kind of vibe with some action and funny wisecracks and twists. It's never boring. Sometimes I skip some parts in books but not this time.
This is the first time I have read Steve Richer. I was impressed. This book kept you guessing and by the time you just knew who did ityou find out you were wrong. However the ending was good and the way you wanted it to end but it felt like it was just thrown in. Wishit has been a little longer.
This book was not at all what I expected. It was better! Yes the president killed his wife but that crime was just a precursor to a much bigger and more involved story. It you like political mayhem you will enjoy this book.
I am a fan of good mystery/thrillers. “The President Killed His Wife” by Steve Richer is one of those thrillers. The story begins as the President takes the podium to address the nation in the State of the Union Address. Minutes into the speech it is evident that something is terribly wrong with the President. Then the nation watches in horror as he motions to a Secret Service Agent, swiftly grabs his gun and murders his wife sitting in the gallery. This crime is captured on all the news channels live.Rogan Bricks, an FBI agent, is called in to head the investigation. He is given carte blanche by the Director and all avenues are at his disposal. Everyone saw the President do the deed. It should be an open and shut case…but is it? Reading this book was interesting in that the victims and the criminals kept getting confused. Although the premise is a bit far-fetched, the story kept my interest and kept me reading until I finished it. At first, I thought this would be just a normal procedural, some slow going investigation. It didn't take long for the twists to come along though! The action was super well written and it reads fast.
A very god story of intrigue and the ultimate question, 'Why'. The president has killed his wife and there is no mistaking that since it was seen on TV by millions of people. Agent Bricks is called in from Alaska to head the investigation. It should be an open and shut case but when he interviews the president he finds that there may have been something behind the murder. When he starts to investigate he finds himself in the cross hairs. You need to read this for your self to discover what is really behind the murder.
What an awesome read! Don't let the title fool you the president killing his wife is the boring part of this book. An FBI agent, who was a marine, who happens to be independently wealthy takes on corruption in the government. There is so much action my adrenaline is spiked vicariously. I've not read Mr. Richer work before but will be binge reading the other titles he has written right away. Strongly recommend!
