ACTUAL RATING: 4.5 STARSI have been in a bit of a reading slump lately- just could not find anything to grab my attention for longer than the first few pages or chapter. That is... until Crow came along.I'm so happy to have finally finished a book lol. Loved it! Well-written and just the right mixture of elements to keep me interested so that I could blaze through the story. I love sassy characters, and Mackenzie is a spitfire- loved her character. If the F-bomb is offensive, then I wouldn't suggest reading this book hahaha. Mack sets out to find out what happened to her best friend by going undercover as a dancer at the club, but finds herself drawn to someone she'd least expect- & the steam rises between Mack (Butterfly) and Lachlan. This is my first book by this author, but I'm on board and eager to read more. Next...
I loved this story. I read it in one sitting, I stayed up way too late to finish it and even this morning, tired, it was worth it. The pacing was good and the characters were interesting. I love jealous, possessive and faithful alpha characters and the hero was. The heroine was appealing to me as well. She was not a meek doormat but a women with a good self esteem despite a difficult childhood. Loyal to those few she loves she goes undercover in order to find out what happened to a good friend. She and the hero have good chemistry and the love making scenes were hot as well as the right amount. The story was dual points of view which I tend to like. In this case there was more her point of view than his and I wish did were reversed as I found his voice more interesting. The story had a HFN ending. While I prefer HEA endings it was understandable given that this is a continuing series.
Okay so im going to be honest i stumbled across this book and oh how im so happy i did. I dont know where to even start! Lach..oh man how i loved his dominance and how he fell for Mack. And Mack..she was such a strong heroine, loved how she wanted to fight for her friend even when she made crazy choices but u couldnt help but root for her. When the secrets came out i was so happy how strong Lach and Mack were together. Huge twist i didnt see coming as well bc throughout the whole book i was wondering who the rat was and what happened to Talia. I really want Ronans book to come next but also the other men in this book. I recommend this book bc if u like mob romance like i do you will enjoy this book as much as i did and its been awhile since i read a good mobster romance . Looking forward to more of these books!!!
MacKenzie is sneaking into a club owned by the Irish mafia in the hopes she can find her friend who went missing after working there for a few days. She thinks she is on her "A" game but didn't think she would get detoured by the head of the Irish Mafia, Lachlan. She ends up spending half her time trying to get under his skin and the other half trying to fly under the radar. This book is well written and doesn't skip a detail. It looks like the author spent time researching all the factions of the mafia and successfully weaves in the future storylines. Can't wait for the next one in the series - REAPER. Look for it on Goodreads.
I really enjoyed this book. I liked how Mack would do anything to find her friend, even falling in love with Lachlan. I enjoyed the way that Mack and Lachlan were with each other. They both found something that neither of them were looking for. I enjoyed when Mack would try to get Ronan to talk but he wouldn't even say something. I didn't want the book to end. It was a very enjoyable read.
I was so immersed in the story it was hard not to skip to the end to fin out if Talia is found or found dead. Does "butterfly" live but I held in there and I am so glad I did. I loved how the Heroine is not weak and can fight, but she still has a soft side. Don't get me started on Crow he was a liquid orgasm walking around on 2 legs. Far from weak and so manly. I am salivating right now thinking about it. Please pick it up! You won't be sorry.
ARC kindly provided by author in exchange for an honest review.I pretty much read all of A. Zavarelli's books and I have become a major fan. She has become one of my go to authors. I do not read a lot of mafia romance bit when i heard about this book,I wanted to know more and I was presently surprised by how this book was written. I mean its from A. Zavarelli, the woman who writes a story that pulls in you and leaves you with a satisfied face. I mean, people buy this book because you become addicted this author's writing as I was.We are introduced to MacKenzie a woman who was raised in the streets who finds put her friend is missing. She sets out to desperately find her and meets Lachlan who is in the Irish Mafia. The story itself was beautifully written and it had me on the edge of my feet. From the plot to the characters, I was so engaged. The author delivered an original storyline that depicted the Irish Mafia, the violence and awesome characters.Talking about the characters, I mean I was so addicted to them. MacKenzie a 24 year old woman is a character i related to a lot. I loved how badass she was. A woman who was willing to fight to get her answers and that took guts. Lachlan a 31 year old man who confused me a bit. It took a while to really like him. I hated him. Lol. But he warmed my heart when he was willing to protect MacKenzie at all cost. Both characters i felt for a lot because tgey each harboured a sad and dark past. It made it more realistic.Overally this is the book to read. Violent, dark and just good to read. It will leave you breathless and wanting more
