With the first book ending in a cliffhanger, this second book started up right where the first one left off. While I really liked the first book, I found this one more enjoyable because I found Frank a little less arrogant and more fun in this book; he almost came off too arrogant in the first one. As with the first, this book was well-written and full of non-stop action with Frank getting used to having an artificial, magic-cancelling heart and being more comfortable with the world of magic. The only thing I’m still having an issue with is the villains not being more clear-cut. This in no way detracts from the book, but I would like to have more of an idea on who is a villain and who is a hero. I am so excited to see what happens next as this one ended on a big cliffhanger. If you like fun, fast, and action-filled urban fantasy, give this book a try. You won’t regret it! Highly recommend!Thanks to the author for the free e-book in exchange for an honest review. Feet of Clay starts where Heart of Gold ends. Then it takes you to whole a new world! And what a world! I don't know what the authors were tripping on when they came up with it, but I hope they keep taking it! I'm still trying to wrap my brain around diammals. Frank and Gabby are still trying to save her son, Max. This time the Whites have him. Frank's mama is threatened (and you know that you don't threaten Frank's family, especially Mama!) so she comes along when Frank returns to the Enders HQ. Frank is his usual witty, snarky, funny, heroic self. There are a lot of twists and surprises that keep you on your toes. (Guess who is in the mysterious cube?) (What does it take to break a hart of gold?) While not exactly a cliffhanger ending, it does lead into the next in the series. I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Poor old Frank, out of the frying pan and into the fire!Frank is great, so much fun to read about as he wings it through disaster after calamity. Adventure packed with plenty of gun fights and magical battles.A good choice for fans of fantasy without the gooey stuff (unless you're talking blown up goo).*This was an ARC, my opinions are my own.*
this is the second book in the series that really pulls you into Franks weird and wacky life. Frank is the type of guy we all know and some what love, this time instead of saving the world he has to save himself from those who want his power - the artifact. it pulls you in and before you know it your on the last page
