Worst nursing book I've had to read. Very difficult to read! For class we have to complete selected Learning Objectives in each chapter and they are very difficult to answer with citations from our reading (if we did not have to cite from the book it would be very easy). The book doesn't explain things in a manner to which you can actually apply the information. The online resource is terrible! It is basically the same thing as the textbook. Many of our other textbooks have online resources that include practice quizzes and study guides and this one does not! If you are a professor and reading this, please don't torture your students with this book.
Highly extraneous! It took twice as long to read through this textbook than any other textbook I've had in my whole college career. There are too many quote levels, too much website reference material, and too much dialogue/examples on common sense stuff. However, there are not enough examples and graphics on the tougher topics that would benefit from additional explanation.
Agree with other reviewers who have said this is a terrible book. Most of the writing is unclear, sections are disorganized, topics are awful, and it sites websites like dictionary.com or answers.com for definitions. So much for a scholarly textbook...
Not a fan. I didn't find this very well written at all, and I was able to gather better data from my own Google searches than was enclosed in this book. I can't say I would have bought it if it weren't a required text, but if I had bought it for some "light reading" I would have been thoroughly disappointed. As a classroom text, it was near useless.
Purchased for a class but I will keep it. I think it has some great ideas about working as a manager. That was never my goal in life, but if I end up there I will put some of these ideas to practice.
I had to purchase this book for my college course and I received it in good condition from the seller. I like how the book is formatted it makes for easy reading and referencing. The compact size makes it easy to cram into a purse or small bag and it is fairly light weight too!
I'm appalled at the number of citations that reference websites - I can use Google just fine myself, if I'm using a textbook I expect more explanation than "JaxWorks (2012) states that this tool is awesome." No true explanation is ever provided, just words and ideas that tend to feed back on themselves.
This book is supposed to be colored inside. Instead it is black and white. I just opened it yesterday even though I purchased it about 6 weeks ago. My classmates were shocked too, to see that it's boring black and white instead of the soft, colorful pages. This should have been indicated in the book description.
