Very poorly written textbook. It reads like a 650 page APA-formatted paper. It's repetitive, not just from chapter to chapter, but from paragraph to paragraph. I literally have had the feeling of deja vu several times while reading different chapters. It cites authors with no explanation for them as in who they are or what they do or why we care about what they have to say . There is very little emphasis on important theories or applications. Mentions of what "this author" has done shouldn't even be included. The fact that you used a theory in your work means nothing to me. Who are you?I can't believe this is the sixth edition of this muck.I've attached a pic of one of the expertly written chapter summaries. (sarcasm)

Very poorly formatted e-book. The tables and charts are quite distorted and difficult to interpret. The content of the book is easily read and understood, and as far as a nursing textbook goes this is a leisurely read. I would recommend renting a paperback copy because the e-book is difficult to navigate, and so many of the figures are poorly formatted. Not worth the convenience of an e-book.

Be sure to download the preview before committing to this book. I found the Kindle format to be poorly done. It is not the same layout as the textbook. Instead of columns of text, you get a single full page view with the text expanded to fill a frame like you might expect if you were reading a novel. I usually buy kindle versions of my textbooks, but this one missed the mark. You're better off with the Pageburst Kno version, especially if you're using a tablet and want the book to look exactly as laid out in the textbook.

If you are going to make me pay a ridiculous amount of money for a book, you would think it would be better done. Page numbers were not updated in this book. Whatever the content of references showed as the number for the section was always off by several pages which made finding information difficult!

This book is horrible. 650 pages of what could have been fitted in 100 at most. Repeating the same stuff over and over again. Some parts are incomprehensible, for example explanation of several theories. Overall, this book is just a bunch of nonsense that is written as a highly scientific text, when in fact all the concepts could have (and should have) been explained in a more simpler way. After reading this textbook, I almost felt like writing to the authors and asking them what they smoked when they were writing it. In fact, maybe I will. I think writing books like this one is simply disrespectful to your readers. In summary, this is the worst textbook I have ever read in my entire life (and I have read a lot, as I am getting my second bachelor's degree in the U.S. and have a master's degree from a foreign country).

I rented this book for a nursing class, so glad I didn't buy it. This book is horrible. I feel as though I am losing brain cell when I try to read the required sections. Finding a mere sentence to quote for discussion boards takes hours, I would rather just find journal articles to quote. The book is disorganized with no real purpose. I feel like it is just gibberish repeated over and over. I cant believe someone got paid to write it. Horrible don't buy.

Book was mediocre. Relatively dry.

Almost no difference from previous versions and as with many other college books hardly had to use at all. Glad there's such a great resource for renting these at a much lower cost than buy. Only needed for the 5 weeks of the class and even then once again was hardly opened.
