Approximately 32 percent of adults are obese, up from 23 percent a decade ago. Government health officials consider obesity to be one of the most serious health concerns facing the nation today. As rates of obesity continue to rise, home health aides will be asked to care for obese patients. Caring for obese patients requires high levels of compassion, knowledge, and skill. This in-service lesson reviews the unique issues related to obesity and offers suggestions for overcoming the difficulties you will face when providing the best possible care.
