I lead a Moms In Touch International prayer group for my daughter's middle school. I am using this book as a guide for us each week when we pray for our kids. I had previously used Joanie Berndt's Praying Scriptures for Your Children and loved it. This similar book for praying for teenagers is proving just as insightful and helpful. We are also using it in our high school prayer group.
I love the book. It helps me to focus on all areas of prayer for my teenage son. Our teenagers desperatelly need prayer parents. This book is an excellent resource and guideline. Try it! I started with the book "praying the scriptures for your children" and loved it too.
Love this book and its format. Jodie is an very gifted writer, but the real treasure is in the prayers you can pray for your teenager, taken straight from Scripture. Anyone who goes through this book can come away comforted that the God of Creation is watching over our precious children during their turbulent years of teenhood. Great prayers, great book!
I often don't know how to express myself when praying. Of course, God knows what I want to pray about, but I want to express myself well when talking to Him. The author of this book, Jodie Berndt, has chosen verses that are pertinent to the need being addressed. She has written a few pages about that need before providing the verses pertaining to it. Her pages are encouraging, well-written, and helpful.
I've labeled with tabs the prayer sections of each chapter for quick reference. This book is a GREAT reference in praying for your teenage children. The chapters are good, but the scripture guidance is the most beneficial to me. I liked this so well, I ordered extra copies for friends who became interested in it because of my praise. My husband even wanted his own copy so we could both pray without having to take it back and forth from each other.
I have a teen, and was searching for something just like this. Each chapter is short and deals with a topic like character, dating, driving, etc. They each tell a personal story and then end the chapter with several scripture. There are blanks in the verses for you to insert your child's name. Definitely no better way for you to pray for your child. You can turn right to the chapters that pertain to your child and pray over the problem areas right away. It's very quick and efficient, and well worth every penny! I highly recommend this for every parent! It's great to have on hand and when you find yourself dealing with an issue, you can turn to the book and immediately pray the scriptures. Very well written! Unlike some books, you don't have to read it all the way through to get the benefits. Just turn to the chapter you need.
What a great book. After a week of saying these prayers, my heart is filled with the Word of God and I am moving into a faith place instead of a worry filled place. Thank you Jodie Berndt. What a faith filled book of power! Now my mouth can be full of the promises instead of complaining!
