I was expecting something very different. This was more of a personal narrative about what people in prison look like and how they get there, and what prison makes people into. While still a good read, I was just expecting more of an exploration of the prison system and how to deal with some of the hardest cases that come before the court system (i.e. while we might want prisons abolished, what do we do with those who have committed atrocities against children, what do we do with rapists?).
