Good, but it doesn't cover any of the subjects deeply.I believe that if you are "refining" your skills is because you already know those skills and want to go deeply in learning them. However, this book gives only quick explanations about either writing and grammar. I just "learned" again everything I already knew and didn't refine anything. If you were required to buy it for classes, buy an used one. It's not the kind of book you will keep after your classes are done.
Plenty of up-to-date model paragraphs and essays to help the student see writing patterns at work. Sections of grammar, mechanics and 5Cs allow student to put together a nice piece of work.
One of the best ESL writing books out there.
The book is great for beginners, unfortunately my professor wasn't that great too...I give the credit for the book, but if you need more help, you will going to need something else.
I needed this for class this Tuesday and when I received my parcel it came in excellent conditions, so there is nothing that was out of the norm from my purchase..
