I carry this great writing source with me to all my classes. Short,sweet and to the point.
I was surprised at the high rating for this chart. But reading the reviews clarified things.This chart is useful ONLY as a study outline for an English composition class. I would use it in class to reduce my note taking, because most of what I'd write in a notebook is already on this chart. And I would use it to study for an English composition test, because most of the test questions are answered on the chart. If that was what I was looking for, I'd give it five stars.I was looking for something useful in a job when writing letters, memos, and reports. But this 6-page chart has too much irrelevant information to use as a quick reference. (Why would I need to explain what a noun is?) It's too densely packed to find things easily. The small print size is difficult for my aging eyes to see. The chart also has too little information to work as an office writing style reference.You may be wondering why I bought this product in the first place. The Quick Look images were illegible; the resolution wasn't high enough. Since I couldn't read the text, I took a leap of faith and bought the chart.
This English Grammar and Punctuation guide has been very handy through the years for it's ease of reference, quick and concise information, and compact size. I have bought several different Quickstudy guides and keep them in dedicated 3-ring binders separated by topics (English, Math, Biology, etc.). My children (and I) like having these to quickly find the answers needed rather than scouring through huge textbooks for proper grammar/punctuation rules. These Quickstudy guides are fully laminated with 3 pre-punched holes for 3 ring binders and have held up very well over the years with frequent use. This guide has been very helpful and I recommend this product.
I'm going back to school (all online) and two of my classes are English Composition I and II. It has been A VERY LONG TIME since I've been in school and felt this quick guide would be helpful with studying and almost "relearning" the proper English language and certain things I have forgotten.
I own several of the Quick Study Guides. They are durable and great for a quick reference or review. Since they are plastic coated and punched for a three ring binder so they are very easy to use and store. The English Grammar & Punctuation covers nouns, pronouns, adjectives, verbs, adverbs, prepositions, conjunctions & interjections and how they combine to form clauses, phrases & sentences. Great for review and to verify you are doing it right.
These laminated quick-reference guides are great. The guides have practically everything necessary for situations such as classroom study, writing in general, and writing online. I still use my Grammar guide from time to time, even after I graduated.
