As indicated in the preface this book is meant to serve as a supportive addition to standard literature in tablet development. It focuses on the practical aspects, is theory based but without delving into details.A special consideration is given to the mixing of pharmaceutical powders in order to ensure appropriate content uniformity. Design of experiments is delineated with practical examples. The selection of excipients for the appropriate manufacturing processing and the targeted properties of the final drug product is also elucidated. The book is rounded out with briefly described examples of development of various conventional-release and slow-release tablets.As a helpful, practical aid in the field of pharmaceutical tablet development this book can be recommended as such especially to newcomers and those who are not familiar but are seeking insight into this field.
