I have used this book for years. It is geared towards Christian homeschoolers, but it does not have an age limit (meaning that no matter how old or young you are, you'll both benefit from and understand the material). It is fun and easy (although NOT dumbed down) to read, and every time I read it, I learn something new about fallacies that occur in our everyday lives.I would definitely recommend this to anyone!

I am a homeschool mom and use this in a joint lesson with my 2nd and 5th grader. They have learned a great deal more then I anticipated and are able to apply thought thought process to writing as well.

This book is a fun and interactive way for teens and adults to learn logic and argumentation. The book exercises our mind and forces us to grow which is hard but profitable. This book gives skills which are far to lost world and much to needed in todays world.

Easy to read but is not watered down even for young readers (middle to high schoolers) . Because of studying this book, my daughter and I have started to notice fallacies around us committed by TV commercials, advertisements, political debates, and people who who disagree with the Biblical worldview. The book is also encouraging me to bridle my own tongue because it is possible to say what I need to say without making an error in the logic. Recommended for all ages!

An excellent small and easy to read volume on how to spot logical fallacies. What I particularly like about this book are the exercises. At the end of each chapter, there are exercises, the first few exercises are usually on the topic that has just been covered in that chapter. These are followed by exercises that cover the material that have been taught in previous chapters. This form of pedagogy is excellent in reinforcing memory of lessons learnt.A highly recommended book.

This is certainly a great book. When you encounter those fallacies in your daily life, you may have some faint idea that something is wrong, such as the "slippery slope" and the "straw man" fallacies. However, you may not be able to point out exactly where the logic is wrong. You may well make the fallacies of "you too" and "weak analogy" yourself without realizing that they are not logical reasoning. And when you are arguing with people and get attached personally, you won't feel much offended, as your opponent is making the "ad hominem" fallacy and manifesting the frustration of his/her inability to use logical argument.Of course, when you have read the book, you will easily spot many fallacies in many comments on internet posts, and the achievement of being able to detect logical fallacies is great fun. There are lots of exercises with answers you can practice on. Surely, the most fun is to use the skills in real life. It's really worth it. I strongly recommend it.Be careful. There are circumstances when you should better not point out a fallacy, for example in your girlfriend's complaint about you. It might make things worse :)

I teach a logic class to 6th- and 7th-graders. I love the book because it explains the concepts clearly in a few paragraphs, uses good examples, and has good "test" questions/examples at the end of each (very short) chapter.

We purchased this for a logic camp that our kids attended over a period of 3 days while we attended a classical education practicum. At the end of each day they continually discussed what they learned with eachother. Our kids were 9, 11 and 14 at the time. They don't "discuss" a lot of things. This gave them something to chew on and in our case, with eachother. Kids need to learn why they believe something and not just accept it at face value. Even in Christianity, God wants believers/non-believers to question with the intent to understand and learn the truth.
