Even though I am an adult I love reading educational kids' books. When I saw this free for my Kindle I knew I had to read it. I have read several other Speedy Publishing books and have enjoyed them. This goes through what the Outback is in Australia and then points of interest in the Outback. There is a description of each place with a picture on one page and another nice picture on the following page of the same place. The places that are highlighted are the Flinders Ranges, Broken Hill (New South Whales), Coober Pedy, Kimberley, Kakadu National Park, Nullarbor Plain, and Uluru. I do not really know that much about Australia so almost all of these places were new to me, but I found it very interesting. This was more for older children. I think it would be kind of boring for younger children, but the pictures may keep them interested. I would recommend this book for anyone of any age.I received this product at discount for my honest testing and review. I am under no obligation to provide a positive review and receive no incentives or rewards for doing so. My aim is to highlight features and drawbacks that I would want to know about as a buyer, not hype the product for the manufacturer. My remarks are sincere and my own. While it is true that many items are received at discounted rates or complimentary, my reviews are completely honest and are my personal experiences with the product. Again, it is just my opinion, your own opinion might vary. I received no monetary compensation and I am not required to give a good review.
Adding my review of Let's Explore the Australian Outback: Australia Travel Guide for Kids as an ebook, so bare with me. I downloaded this instantly from after purchase, to my cell phone to use with my free kindle app on phone. Unfortunately, my actual Kindle Fire was having difficulties and I could not download to it. So my review is based on using a Samsung Galaxy S5 phone screen. This is a well written short book on Australia. The paragraphs are short and to the point, making it an easy read for all ages. Children can understand the text in this ebook easily. It is interesting information, making learning about Australia fun and exciting. The pictures used in this book are actual photographs of Australia. Each photo is highly detailed and of great quality. The photos help the information link together for the reader. I enjoyed looking at each photograph while reading the information provided.Overall, this book flows well, and contains a great deal of information about Australia and its cities. The photos in this book are beautiful and interesting to look at. I enjoyed reading this book, and recommend it to anyone to read and learn all about Australia.I received this ebook for free or a discounted price to offer my honest opinion concerning this ebook. Cool little book here. I would say it is for the reading ages of 5-9. I read this with my son who is 8 and he enjoyed it. Nice pictures and facts to go along with them. Easy enough for him to read and the pictures were of good quality. It took about 20 minutes to read, helping him with any difficult words, which wasn't many. Overall, a good book that kept him interested in reading, and for a young boy that doesn't happen to often.I received this product at a discount for my honest and unbiased review. The discount has not influenced or impacted my judgement of this product. I take this seriously and include my own opinion and experience with each product. I am in no way required by the seller to leave positive remarks about their product. If you have found my product review to be helpful, please thumbs up this review. This will make it easier for others to find this review so they may be helped as well. You certainly don’t have to, I don’t get anything from it, but I get a good feeling that I helped someone. If you have any questions about my experience with this product, please leave me a comment. Thank you for taking the time to read my review
This was pretty well-received among the adults of our group because of the fantastic pictures and little tidbits of information, although there was frustration the book was so short. The 7-12 year old children interested in geography loved the pictures and the feel that Australia was exotic, but were mostly bored by the blurbs and also wondered if these were the only notable parts of the Australian Outback or if there were more. 13 to about 25 loved the pictures, was frustrated by the short length, also wondered if these were the only notable parts of the Outback and felt the information shared per place wasn't boring but wasn't detailed enough. There's some truly spectacular pictures in here and some credit has to be given for that. But the book doesn't effectively capitalize on the interest these pictures generate. Including more info about how the Aboriginal people, later colonists and modern Australians interacted with this land would've helped hook everyone and answer a number of questions asked by the various age groups. Beyond info about temperature info was desired about what was native and introduced plant and animal life like in each of the areas in the book. Everyone loved the tidbit about camels, but wanted more info on animal and plant life. Lots of comments centered on this book being far too sparse with info to feel like you'd actually explored the Outback like the title states. This gets such a high star rating because the pictures captured everybody's interest from 7 on up and because there were a few tidbits, like the one on camels, that were especially interesting and illustrative of life there. I received this book at a free or discounted rate in exchange for my honest review. To clarify how I view the rating system, five stars = A, four stars = B, three stars = C, two stars = D, and one star = F.
