This book reads like non-sense. I have to read and re-read to even figure out what the author is trying to say. Only to find out that the same idea is repeated throughout the next four pages. Also, the Kindle version does not have page numbers, which makes reading assignments difficult to find. The Kindle version search feature is nice. Wish it had x-ray though.
I only purchased this book because I HAD to for school. Personally, I don't think they should require nursing theory in grad school. Book was a snooze, besides you can get nursing theories online now.
This book is incredibly boring , just like all nursing theory books. I cannot believe our teachers and university force us to waste time and money on garbage like this. It will not make us better healthcare providers. Two thumbs down.
The WORST read ever. This author needs to "dumb it down" a bit. Philosophies and Theories are already confusing and this book and author made it even more confusing. A lot of flowery verbiage. It was definitely not my favorite and I have no idea why the professor would even choose this book for the course. Awful!
Barely read this book since my instructor used power points that were obviously directly from the book. It is, however, a great reference for what you possibly cannot find.
It is a great textbook for students who wish to become nurse practitioners, as it gives an excellent foundation for Nursing Theory. There are many application examples of theory-to-practice in the text. Because most chapters have a different author, the reading level tends to be inconsistent, and that could be a problem for some readers.
Purchased this book as a text for a course in a DNP program. Most chapters are clear, concise, and easy to understand.
This was an excellent source and reference for my course. I will recommend this book for future students taking theory.
