A lot of the readers and preppers the author knows suggested Ron consider giving them their “Fix” of prepper fantasy in this type of short story format of 3 or 4 chapters containing 10,000 to 30,000 words like a Kindle single that could be written as complete story installments in small novelette form. This particular installment is about a prepper surviving after a nuclear electromagnetic pulse (EMP) has devastated the electrical grid. Cars and Trucks can still move in most parts of America but they can’t get any gas. The threat of bio-terrorism looms as the US and its allies go to war and modern technology dependent society is stopped dead in its tracks. Martial law and global famine has begun. Can the books characters survive? Could you? Where does this post apocalyptic tale go from here? Follow this series of action and adventure page turners to find out. The book is written in the perspective of a prepper thinking about how he is going to be dealing with the ever expanding post apocalyptic situation and melt down of society.The Prepper fiction author Ron Foster is very well known as a guest speaker on the Prepper Broadcasting network and a regular contributor to survival forums and his Twitter account under the name @SolarPrepper. This apocalyptic story begins his 23rd book of both fiction and non fiction books in the dystopian genre. These short stories Ron writes a lot of “end of the world” based adventure and prepper action fiction series that are meant to be viewed by the reader in a similar fashion as renting a commercially produced movie for entertainment or education. Hours of enjoyment and pleasure for a very cheap price (even these small short read books take many many hours to create and publish) and the only difference between buying this book or renting a video is that the movie will play in your head instead of be on a TV or movie screen. Not an over the top, Hollywood type action story, it is a very good read or listen in a realistic believable story. As some grammar police below found that yes, there are some grammar errors, however in my opinion this make for a more genuine spoken language. None of us speak perfect English and for me it just brings credibility to the story. If the writing errors bother you that much, I highly recommend getting the audio version.
This book is a quite dull narrative. It is filled with dull conversation about the different ways various prepper tools and supplies might be used, and very little action. It should be rewritten as a manual. It includes commercials for the author's favorite products, including color photos. The last pages of the book are complete details on how to buy them.There are also tons of editing errors. I sometimes had to pause to decipher what he meant to say.There are good recommendations on products and strategies for prepping. But this author doesn't have the skill to spin an interesting story.
Lotta pages dedicated to dutch oven cooking, especially considering the small amount of pages per pamphlet.And Ron, please, work on your dialogue a little more. It was good to see a few contractions this time, vol 1 was unlike any spoken word I've ever heard uttered by native born Americans.
