This book is ridiculously massive, its the thickest book i have ever seen and the binding is not great but the material is pretty good. Glad I rented it rather than buying it because my professor's copy has fallen apart into about 5 sections.
This Book was a required reading for a my Western Lit class and I was intimidated at first but then just looking through the table of content you realize that it is filled with classic literature. This was and still is a wonderful requirement that I will recommend just for a leisure read. And trust me when I say if you like western literature this book will save you money in the long run because there all in a few volumes.
I purchased this book for a Literature Course I am taking at a local college. I actually enjoy the reading, and have a difficult time putting the book down. it is assembled in such a way that its very easy to follow..
This is probably the best anthology of Western Lit in print at the moment - well, there are only two, and the latest Norton is a bust, in my view. There are v. irritating things about it: eg. the Fitzgerald trans of Homer, which spells everything with ks and hs (Akhilleus, etc. - my spell-checker has underlined that, as well it might), and a complete gap from Marcus Aurelius to the Qu'ran (Augustine, anyone?); still, there's a lot in it, and only a few really perverse omissions.If only copyright law didn't make one dependent on these anthologies! If only publishers' greed didn't keep forcing out new editions when the old ones were just fine ..!
So I purchased this book through instead of renting or purchasing it through my school bookstore. It was insanely cheaper through , and the best thing was....It had the sticker on it from MY SCHOOL, saying USED BOOK on it. Honestly, this is a wonderful and simply fantastic coincidence. But it does highlight on how horrendous it is trying to buy books through your school's bookstore(the majority of the time) and you should always seek ANY other option in purchasing to save you money.The book came as expected, it's used....obviously...and it's used by college students, so you may get one with helpful things highlighted, or have had someone who wasn't very bright and have entire pages highlighted.
I got this book because I needed it for class. After reading some pages from it, it's actually not a bad book to hold on to. It's pretty thick, but there are some interesting poems and short stories in there. For those who like to read.
I like these a lot! Good sound quality when used as hands free phone headset (my primary use). I also got a pair for my daughter who primarily listens to music with them. She says they sound as good as the wired ear buds she uses. Can't imagine paying 4x for the original brand as this is disposable techbilogy.
Glad I decided to rent from ! It was cheaper than lots of other places, delivered quickly, and easy to return! I would definitely recommend renting this book, as well as any others from . The books are well taken care of and easy to return once the time has lapsed. Overall very pleased.
