Stories From My Grandparent features the most extensive -- and interesting -- prompts I've seen in such books. The responses will surely provide the most well-rounded picture of who a grandparent was, is and hopes to be in the years to come. I appreciate that the prompts focus not only on the general events in a person's life, but on how they felt, what they dreamed about, what they hoped for. Most grandchildren will know what Grandma or Grandpa did for a job, where they went to school and so forth, but this journal goes far beyond that and delves into who Grandma or Grandpa really, truly is.The spiral-bound pages are a plus, making it simple to write in, simple to peruse and enjoy once completed.A lovely heirloom.

I'm in my early 20s and I bought this book (and two others from different vendors) for each of my granparents who are between 65 and 90 years old) this Christmas as gifts. I was a bit hesitant because even though they always have a new story to tell me of their past life and adventures, they are very active people and are hardly ever sitting around at home. But I am so pleased to say that THEY LOVED IT. As soon as they opened it and understood the purpose of the book, they got right into it. Mind you, I had to slow their roll and remind them to actually WRITE in the book and not just walk down memory lane out loud. What I think I might do is increase my visits with them and ask them the questions myself and write for them while they talk which can be a great benefit of this book- bringing the generations together in a non-awkward way despite generation gaps.I gave only a 3 because i wish there were more spaces for pictures and extra blank spaces to write. The questions are simple enough and are good prompters, giving the reader/writer a good start to gathering their thoughts which is good because you don't want to be too restrictive- like I said they can really get on a roll once you start them off

I was thrilled to receive this book. I have a six year old grandson and I want him to know about his heritage, his great grand-parents and their lives and about my life as I was growing up. As a child, I used to love to sit around a table with my parents who would tell stories about their lives as children and about family. I share this verbally with him, but I wish so much that my parents (or I) had written down these wonderful stories because many I have forgotten. Thank you, Susan Adcox, for providing a way to do this and the book itself is absolutely beautiful.

This is the perfect book for a grandparent to share their life stories with their grandchildren. I have four Granddaughters and they each have a book I've written in for them. This one, I have to say, is my favorite!!

I gave this as a Mother's Day gift to my mom who recently celebrated her 90th birthday. She has worked on it ever since. It will pass to my daughter who will have a first-hand account of the many aspects of her grandmother's life.

What a beautiful way to help a grandchild know who you are and where they fit in your family story. I am excited to fill in this book with stories and pictures to be given to my newest grandbaby who is due in a few months. Thank you Susan for your creation.Karen Wright
