After I read this book, I ordered several more for friends! It is so timely and helpful for todays Grandparents! My favorite chapter - which I refer to often - is "Intervening Versus Interfering". There is also a chapter on step-grandchildren, and what to do when your grandchildren move in with you. Makes a great baby shower gift for the new grandma-to-be!
I'm finding this book very helpful in giving me ideas for improving my relationship to my eleven grandchildren, which is my new 2008 goal. I'm not having any issues, but I always look for ideas and this book is VERY inspiring and tangible!
I buy and recomend this book to all Gradnparents. It clearly gives God's instructions on this exciting calling. I appreciate the practical and spiritual insights and applications. The prayer at the end of each chapter is just what this grandma needs. Each time one of my friends becomes a grandparent, I give them this book!
A great book with ideas and viewpoints that I had not even considered before. Sound, practical advice for those who want to make an eternal as well as present difference in the lives of their grandchildren (and children). I rarely recommend books but I highly recommend this one!
Really found this book to inspire me to be intentional about the opportunitiesi have to speak into our grandchildren's lives. My husband who is not a "reader" read it also and enjoyed it too. I have given it to a few other grandparents as well as those who are new grandparents.
This book was very helpful to me. It gave me a point of view from a child's eye and reminded me of my own grandfather. It brought things to mind as I saw them then. I think I will be a better grandmother now as I thought my grandfather was the best. I will be coming from where he was. My granddauther and I are already on to a better relationship.
EXTREMEly valuable encouragement, teaching and advice! In today's society we see so many diverse families. This book is a great encouragement to love on our grandchildren while following Jesus!
