If you are Irish this book is for you! The wit is from the "old country." Many of the jokes are old but timeless. They belie the culture of the not so distant past. The Irish find humor in almost every situation, and this book demonstrates this very well. The wisdom is ageless and is exactly what has gotten the Irish through their bad times. If you want to know why the Irish can get through their hard times read this book. Joan Larson Kelly understands and has chosen the best of the Irish Wit and Wisdom. She knows Pat and Mike inside out. For insight into the Irish Wit and Wisdom read this wonderful book.

I'm a travel agent and I wanted to put in a small surprise for some clients headed to Ireland. It was perfect because it fit right in with their documents and didn't take up much space. It will be a fun read for them on the plane trip over!

This is a delightful little book and would make a brilliant gift for a friend on St.Patrick's Day,or anytime in fact. While it has only 62 pages ,it is a hardcover book, very well constructed ,has high quality paper, and the printing is excellent ,as are the 9 full-page colored illustrations. The covers are also beautifully done with colored illustrations as shown here. And to finish off,a glossy dust jacket is provided, making it a worthwhile keepsake. When you open the cover, the end papers are very colorful and have a place to enscribe the name of the person you are giving it to.If you have become frustrated with the ridiculously priced greeting cards;why not choose a small book like this.anyone receiving it will be impressed. At only $4.95,it ,it's about the price of a card. The book has an introduction ans the sections are broken down into: Blarnrney Folklore Fairies--Fair and Fowl Irish Humor Proverbs and Sayings Limericks and Toasts. Not only is this book enjoyable, but it is also informative.I really like the section on Fairies. Here you will learn all about Fairies ,and yes Leprechauns too,Did you know there were Pooka,GHeancanach and Clobher-ceann as well? As Queen Elizabeth who is credited with first using the word blarney, once said "Blarney,Blarney--it's all Blarney. What he says he does not mean. What he means he does not say."

First thing's first. YES, this IS a mini book. The product title says "Irish With and Wisdom (Mini Books)" yet people were still complaining about the book being small. It's supposed to be small. In fact, I like the size better than if it were a normal-sized book. I can fit it in my pocket and keep it with me in case I need a laugh. What else can I say about it? It's a great book for anyone who's Irish. Just watch out, my friend tried to steal it. Well, not really, he's no pickpocket, but he did try (and fail) to convince me to give it to him.

It just came today. I ordered it on July 19th so it took like what 5 days , not too long. haven't really read it read it. Smaller than what I expected but convo ident to my lifestyle because I don't like owning extras ( the less the best).Maybe going to read it later. Good quality book,it has my recommendation, buy it.

Bought this as a gift for a friend who is very witty and can tell some tall tales! He said he enjoyed it. I was a little disappointed with the size and did not realize it was a mini book until I opened the package.

To me, and I am very Irish, this very tiny volume is simply not worth the money. There are many other books that do the same thing with a bigger bang for your bucks!

Nice book, but not what we needed. This is for a gift for a Foundation made up for Irish Setter lovers.
