This is my standby book for everything related to illness in dogs. It goes over medications and their uses as well. This book should be reprinted forever. Dog owners who don't have this book mostly have no idea what their dog has, or why they are giving the medication that was prescribed. It is up to dog owners to take full responsibility for everything their dog takes. They must be the one to observer for side effects and the ones to know what to report to the vet. This is not the dogs-for-dummies type of book but you do not have to be advanced with a grasp of veterinary medicine. This will *teach* readers what they need to know, and do it in a way that they can understand, with enough detail to make it actually useful, unlike every other book for novices I ever read and regretted buying. If you want to know more about your dog's illness and medications or what to look out for in a healthy dog, buy this book. If it comes to a time when there are no more copies, go to the Drs. Foster and Smith website and raise the roof and demaind that they reprint it.
I have a personal copy of this book that I purchased several years ago. I have just purchased a couple of books on to give to friends who have just purchased dogs. The information is by vets for lay people. It can help you determine whether you need a trip to the emergency clinic or can wait till morning.
