The product in question is not the book itself. It is purported to be a summary and review of All the Light We Cannot See. I ordered it by mistake, thinking it was the novel. I was absolutely horrified that someone(or is it self-published?) would publish such an insult to Anthony Doerr or to any other professional writer. The first page about the author(page 7 in the pamphlet) has countless errors:. spelling, punctuation, capitalization, sentence structure, misplaced phrases and clauses. Information is incorrect; for example, J.T. Salrich states that after completing COLLEGE, Doerr "went on to major in History at Bowden College." Didn't he finish high school before going on to Bowden? Then, Salrich says, Doerr "received an MFA from Bowling Green State University for his services to Literature." What kind of terminology is "for his services to Literature"? I assume that Doerr received an MFA for completing the requirement of the University. This continues as the summary/critique goes on. I haven't finished Salrich's account because I am still reading the actual book. What I can tell so far, however, is that Salrich states the very obvious that even a middle-school student these days could garner from the novel. There aren't any real insights. And throughout there are mechanical mistakes: grammar, spelling, and the like.As a retired high school English teacher and freelance writer, I am saddened that no one stepped forward to proofread the text and to assist Salrich in his attempted endeavor.Yes, he may be making money from his crib notes, but the integrity of the English language is at stake here and far more important than a few dollars.Oh, my!

Considering the atrocious grammar, misspellings, randomly distributed capitalized words in the middle of sentences, missing words, and inapt punctuation, I have to wonder why no proofreader was permitted anywhere near this amateurish mess. Skip this, just read the book.

The book, purported to be a review of the novel, is pretentious, filled with spelling and grammatical errors as well as content errors. I'll admit I purchased it by mistake - clicked on this instead of the original book, but even free it is a mistake to get it.

I belong to quite a few (too many) book clubs and have a pretty hefty reading schedule. I love to read but can often get story lines, characters and the like confused by the time we are scheduled to sit down and discuss a particular book. This is one of the reasons that I have started to use Summary & Analysis guides and I loved this one for Anthony Doerr's "All The Light We Cannot See". This companion allowed me to keep all of the characters, themes, and chapter summaries straight. I also LOVED the book club discussion questions included at the end. Well done.

I bought this by mistake. It is not the real book. It is not even "Cliff Notes". It is a "review", and poorly doneat that. I have no idea what the purpose of this book is. Don't buy it. Buy the real book.

Salrich offers up a tightly written and compelling overview of each chapter of All the Light We Cannot See in a way that makes me forget Cliffs Notes ever existed. Love love love the reflection questions at the end of each chapter. Great way to help get the most out of the story. Nice job on this one.

I found this book to be a great companion to All The Light We Cannot See. I am impressed with the the summaries of the chapters, as well as the analysis' that are given. The addition of the study questions and quotes make this a perfect tool for book discussion groups. Also, students would find this handy if they needed to write an essay about this intriguing story.

This was one of the most in depth summaries I have came across online. JT Salrich does a remarkable job capturing the essence of the original novel. I also enjoyed that he went a couple steps further and even included information about the author, it was like a behind the scenes look. I might be strange, but I always wonder about the people who create my favorite/ best selling novels.I was a big fan of the table of contents, I wish more summary and analysis companions would make it that easy to find the chapter you are looking for. The critical review near the end of the book was pretty much bang on with my own opinion of All The Light We Cannot See, and I found the discussion questions great as well. My book club has been reading All The Light We Cannot See, and I have only had a chance to read it with only half of my concentration thanks having a new baby, and some massive sleep deprivation. This book gave me a great summation of the original novel and helped to fill in all the blanks that I had missed. I will definitely be looking for something by this author the next time I am in the market for a sidekick to a novel, the quality goes above and beyond what I have found from others.
