Featuring 73 sharp, new images obtained with state-of-the-art scanning technology, the Second Edition of this popular pocket atlas is a quick, handy guide to interpreting computed tomography images of the brain and calvarium, temporal bone, orbit, nasal cavity, and paranasal sinuses. The book helps readers recognize normal anatomic structures on CT scans and distinguish these structures from artifacts. Each page presents a high-resolution CT scan, with anatomic landmarks clearly labeled. Directly above the scan are a key to the labels and a thumbnail illustration that orients the reader to the plane of view (sagittal, axial, or coronal). This format enables readers to identify features rapidly and accurately.Praise for the previous edition:"[A] splendid, very pocket-sized atlas....[A] very useful basic booklet which will enlighten all clinical trainees and not a few of their mentors."--Journal of Neurology, Neurosurgery, and Psychiatry"A very useful and uncomplicated pocket-sized reference....This little atlas will be popular among residents in neurology, neurosurgery, ENT, ophthalmology, and internal medicine, and all clinicians who are required to inspect CTs of the head."--Neurology"The book is most useful for medical students and neophyte radiology, neurology, or neurosurgical residents....Recommended!--American Journal of Neuroradiology

This was used in conjunction with the books that were issued to me while attending my radiology program. this is a good review book, and should not be used as a primary source. That being said, it served me greatly in applying the main concepts.

Light, portable, good quality of impression, but not for medicine, only for basic knowledge, sure this insurance was not done by an anatomist or radiologist. If you are not a medical related person can be good.

Nice little atlas, although ENT doctors get more out of it than neuro doctors.

This was really a poor excuse for an atlas if I've ever seen one. The photo that is on the front cover is representative of the images you will see inside... Small, close-up, difficult to gain perspective of just what/where you are looking. Was hoping for more of a slice by slice atlas with better images. There was so much anatomy that went unnamed in each image. You get what you pay for, I realize, but this was really a waste of money and I can't recommend one positive thing about it.

I own both pocket atlas books and still carry them daily with me to work. Exellent cross-sectional reference tool! A definate must have for anyone working or interested in cross sectional anatomy.

The copy i recieved looked like it had been copied. Poor picture quality. I have the other volume of this atlas for body anatomy and they look completely different as far as picture quality goes.

This book was disappointing. The images are grainy and don't give the detail needed to review important CT anatomy. I expected more after seeing how good the Pocket Atlas of the Body was.

This is a very well illustrated and handy book to keep in your pocket, locker, workspace, etc....The shipment was fast and accurate and the cost can't be beat for the information covered.
