This workbook is wonderful! My son has learned so much since beginning this workbook. The pages are bright, colorful, fun, and easy for him to understand. The activities just make sense. Although it is quickly paced it is also thorough and really seems to stick with him. His reading is coming along beautifully and I know it is a result of this book. I like that there are three workbooks in one Reading Skill Builders, Spelling Games and Activities, and Vocabulary Puzzle and Contents. This book contains 300 pages of Language Arts Fun!
My son is home schooled and he was not happy with the program we started out using for Language Arts. I was looking for something that would keep his interests, not be to easy and not break the bank. This workbook did it all. He really enjoy using this for school.
Our 8 year old daughter struggled in reading in second grade. We used these workbooks to help catch her up this summer so that she would be ready for third grade. It has been a great help!!
My 7 year old LOVES this book. He already can read, so he got very excited when he started it and exclaimed, "Oh this will be easy!" It does get more challenging as the book goes on, and he is having so much fun doing one page per day. He wants to do more, but some of the pages are time consuming depending on the activity. Just right for his age and his level. Great book to use over the summer!
Sylvan books are outstanding for homeschooling or just helping your student with subjects they may struggle with. We have used numerous Sylvan books and they have all been amazing. I highly recommend any of them.
This is an excellent tool to use for helping your 2nd grader get ahead and stay ahead. I use this book regularly as a supplement and review for my daughter's homeschool curriculum. There are also science and social studies lessons to use which incorporates both that and Language Arts. I highly recommend this!
Anytime you have spent with your children or grandchildren is great. If you can teach something they will take with them it's better and if you both learn something it's priceless. Take some time now while you can.
My children earn extra screen time at weekends by doing worksheets. I bought my second grader the Second Grade Language Arts and Super Maths Success books and she is working through them. They are maybe a touch too easy but she does struggle with math sometimes in particular and I figure it's all good reinforcement for what she's done at school. My Kindergartner is reading already and is good with his numbers so I bought him the 1st Grade Sylvan Learning Language Arts Success and Super Maths Success books which are just at the right level for him. It's a very thick book, which can make writing in the early/latter pages difficult sometimes, but you could always tear the pages out and work on them that way if that's a problem for your child. I think the combined Sylvan language arts and math success books are fantastic value and definitely recommend.
