I am a fairly smart person, have studied other languages, have a native Hebrew speaker for a boyfriend, and I was STILL confused by this book. By page 6 I was completely lost, and resorted to sending screen shots to my boyfriend and asking for help. He had to point out that some critical pieces of information were left out, making following along almost impossible.I'm going to Israel in 4 months and need something more effective than this. Going to buy something else.
As one who has always been fascinated by Hebrew and its seemingly undecipherable writing system, I had tried many booksover the years and found them too uninteresting. Not so with this book by Gary Ghaller entitled "Simply Learn Hebrew". It ispresented in a way that any beginner will find it easy to progress and the references to expand on the knowledge gained bythe text presented are most valuable. Well done. Great learning tool.
The author has given a lot of thoughts in teaching and helping students of basic biblical hebrew. Very helpful and the video are also well presented. A must see!!
I was enjoying learning through this book, which references to videos on the author's blog, after few videos they haven't been updated and book seems to be incomplete because of the lack of videos.
Fascinating Lessons, expertly built up, well explained, nice price. Four stars, instead of five, for two reasons:- linked videos will not play from Kindle Fire HDX; the author does mention they should be watched on a PC. inconvenient nontheless.- again, regarding using the book on the Kindle Fire HDX, the Hebrew characters appear small, as a single illustration. They zoom as such, but grainy, and without accompanying text.The book renders good on Kindle Paperwhite 2, but the Hebrew characters could be sharper still.The author gives only some pronounciation answer keys in the beginning, then omits them. pity. He does announces that in the first part of the book.Be aware, that this course will teach to read and pronounce Hebrew without understanding the meaning.I enjoy the lessons a lot, the recommendations above would make it perfect!Thanks to the author for making this available, five stars for opening up this new world to us. The links to explanatory character background are appreciated.

Currently I am trying to learn to read, speak Hebrew. Learning another language than my own is a challenge, though learning Lat was not so hard. "Simply learn Hebrew" is a most facinating and satisfactory tool. I have found it helpful and very interesting for a beginner student. Among many books, tapes, flash cards weekly lessons from Tel Aviv on Skye. this book is the best. I recommend it to anyone seeking to learn Hebrew and understand the Bible translations.
As a new teacher of Hebrew for adults, I've recommended this book to all students who have a Kindle, and for those who do not have a Kindle, I almost make it a mandatory purchase for my students.
