The novel continues the story of Alexander Baldwin, now a renowned scholar and physicist whose youthful wanderings into worlds beyond our own have reemerged in his adult life to influence his scientific research and alter his thoughts on life and reality.I haven’t read the first book in this series and stumbled on this one quite accidentally, but I was sucked in immediately. The great thing about this book is that it stands alone perfectly, and if you missed the first one you can still follow the story. Thought provoking and strange, Alexander is the perfect book for physics fans, sci-fi and fantasy enthusiasts, or anyone who wants a fresh perspective on the meaning of life.
After reading ‘Alec’ and loving it! I decided to try book two. I thought the first book was good, but this book is awesome! ‘Alexander’ follows Alec in his adult life where he is now a physicist. Alec has an incredible imagination and as a child he used to wander off regularly going off on epic adventures within his own mind. Now that he is older, he has a family and is a very intelligent young physicist who is determined to unlock the secrets of the universe. He has vivid dreams that feel very real and he believes that they are showing him a new way of thinking. This is yet another great book from Stan Law that I thoroughly enjoyed and is, as expected from this author, very cleverly written. I will definitely be reading the final installment to this series. I’m almost gutted that I only have one more book left to read!! Worth five stars!
Our second book in the trilogy brings us to a more captivating place where our grown-up Alec is trying to reclaim and conceptualize his youthful experiences with what he now knows as a scholar. I must say that this book challenged me and forced me to take a critical examination along with Alexander. What emerges is a very auspicious revelation that I felt wholly satisfied and pleased with. I must say that this book exceeded my already-high expectations.Stan I.S. Law expanded his knack for writing with sophisticated banter coupled with poetic reminiscence. I thoroughly enjoyed reading, as this trilogy has quickly become one of my favorites. It would easily bode well with readers that are faithful to the fantasy genre but appreciate being challenged and learning new things. Very impressed!

Law is an amazing writer, weaving fantastic prose into a novel rich with thoughts and new perspectives on ancient religions and current theology. I have read several of Stan I.S. Law’s books, and am always amazed at his talent for capturing the moment while also being cognizant of the past. “Alexander” is a must-read for any fan of the fantasy genre, and for people who don’t normally enjoy fantasy novels.

The secrets of the universe begin to unravel in a thought provoking fashion that is not for the faint of heart. The boy we met as Alec in the first book has now grown up and married to the girl of youth (Suzy). Both of the main characters are developed perfectly allowing the reader to fully appreciate their personalities. They are described in a multi-dimensional manner that digs deep into what they are thinking and feeling engulfing the mind and senses in a unique way. Not an easy task to accomplish as a writer, yet Author Stan I.S. Law does it perfectly and with the ease of a smooth martini.Freedom and Struggle I felt are the two elements found in this book and provide the foundation for the storyline. Everything can be lost with the blink of an eye unless Alec is able to unravel the mysteries of his memories. A deep and engulfing tale that will have profound effect on your thoughts well after you are done reading.One word to describe this second book of the trilogy: Brilliant.Author Stan I. S. Law in my opinion is a master storyteller and novelist whom I believe to be one of the best in the market today. I have read over 10 of his book on a wide area of topics that are both Fiction and Non-Fiction. All, just like this one, have been fantastically written in an astounding fashion. I’m hooked and can’t wait to read the last book of the trilogy.5 Stars
After finishing ALEC (book 1 of the Alexander Trilogy), I found myself wanting to learn more about Alec's (the young Dr. Alexander Baldwin) past and future. ALEXANDER did not disappoint! It begins with Dr. Alexander Baldwin as a young physicist, ready to begin a PhD at CalTech. He wants to unlock the secrets of the universe, yet he cannot forget his past. It continually butts into his thought processes. His relationship with Suzy, although it is positive, complicates his understanding of the past and future. The situation builds when Alexander and Suzy explore their consciousness together, arriving at impactful conclusions. This story is a great mix of romance, fantasy, science fiction, and the supernatural. Once again, Stan I.S. Law's writing is affecting, thoughtful, and descriptive. I fully recommend this book!
