Given the devotion between this small group of tight-knit friends, sisters, lovers, it was never really a question of if, but when! Lucky for the sisters, the corruption seeking to destroy the Order from within it's own ranks allowed the protection necessary to hide in plain sight. Anonymity is maintained; Victor and the Bulldog sought to keep the knowledge of Cass and her sisters' importance from the Order, and thus the same Order failed to learn what would have doomed the girls.As the latest dust settles Cass is given the time and chance to once again renew her addiction and obsession with Cornish pasties. Prison food leaving its mark, Cass and her fellow escapee Emile, another FireSoul befriended during her prison time, renew their energy on gourmet from Potions & Pastilles. As is oftentimes the case, the simple things in life are never more appreciated than when things have been bare. Cass's ability to be happy with the smallest accomplishments and the conflict she acknowledges by putting herself in the shoes of her adversaries are two of the greatest traits which endear her to readers.Sitting in her lounge going over what is known, its here we're transported back to one of the earliest missions involving the rescue of Amara (the Heart of Glencarrough) for the Alpha Council, and a little window of potentiality opens into the goals of Victor's. The enormity of past events of this saga is revealed in the realisation that it was just one month ago.
