English Made Easy, Volume 1 consists of a total of 20 units arranged in groups of five. The first four units presents language and provide learners the opportunities to practice as they learn. The first page of each unit has a list of all the words and phrases to be learned in that unit, together with pronunciation guide. At the end of each unit, an interesting story which uses the language that has just been learned is presented. The fifth unit in each group contains exercises designed to reinforce the language learned in the first four units.

I am an educator who does part-time voluntary work with individual young adults learning English. I work with some of my students face-to-face and with others via regular email contact. I am not a trained ESL teacher. I have bought several copies of this book for my students. I have waited for a text like this for some time. It is truly excellent. It sequences learning in a logical way for students. It builds grammar, vocabulary and contextual understandings in ways that my students are responding too very positively. My distance students manage their own learning. There is in-built practice work and skill and knowledge building is carefully planned. The pictures and bubble text are great and contexts and linguistic relationships are very clear. A great learning resource - useful with teachers or without. Can't wait to get Vol 2!
I found this book at the library, then bought it from because I wanted to own it. I tutor a very basic ESL learner, and while we've made great strides in pronunciation, I didn't feel like we were getting anywhere with comprehension. This book allows us to practice and repeat the concepts and vocabulary, all in the proper context. This book shows you how to use the language in basic situations, and doesn't clutter the lessons with grammar vocabulary (my student doesn't need to know the words "subject", "object", "predicate", or whatever - she just needs to see how the language works). It's a great book for students with a limited understanding of English, and I highly recommend it!
I am teaching a class of adult refugees. It was hard to find material that was basic enough, but aimed more towards adults. This book fit the bill perfectly and the students quite like the book. Job well done.
My daughter-in-law is Korean with some English training. This book was perfect to introduce her to new words and grammatical concepts with my help. The pictures associated with each word and phrase, including the periodic self tests, are fantastic. Highly recommend.
I used this book for beginners in Japan.This book is very easy for a beginner to learn English. It is also very fun because cartoons and pictures will smoothly make you understand the meanings and memorize the words. Strongly recommend this book for beginners!
This is an EXCELLENT book. So many beginner ESL books require that the student know how to read at an unrealistic level before they can fill in the appropriate blanks. The pictures in this book add wonderful clarity, so that the student can know what is expected of them when filling in the unknown variables. In addition, each lesson offers a great selection of relevant vocabulary without being unrealistic at the particular level. In other words, everything is presented in a very logical order! If you teach ESL, each of your students should have one of these books. If you are learning English, the only thing that would be better is if the book came with a CD! I don't think you can go wrong with this resource.
I got this book for my mom who is learning english for the first time and she likes it very much. It was great choice between so many books to chose from. The tutor also loves this book. What is important while learning new language is the conversational skills and this book allows you to target this from the very first pictures. you look, practice and memorize. Really great way to learn!
