This textbook is pure gold.Written by probably the most significant researcher on the topic of impacted teeth and eruption disorders (A. Becker) it covers pretty much all the aspects an orthodontists should know. The book contains a large variety of clinical photographs, radiographs and CBCTs as well as in-depth analyses of all features of various impactions (prevalence, risk factors, clinical characteristics, radiographic characteristics, associated anomalies, etiology, treatment options etc). What makes this textbook unique is that it combines clinical information (the author is considered a guru in the orthodontic treatment of impacted teeth with many years of clinical experience both privately and as a Faculty member of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem - Hadassah Faculty of Dental Medicine) with information from the literature (a large amount of references at the end of each chapter) and an emphasis on current evidence. So don't expect an easy read.In my opinion, this textbook should be mandatory in all postgraduate orthodontic residency programs, together with a more general textbook (Proffit or Graber) and a fair amount of peer-reviewed articles.Sincerely,Ioannis P.
