The authors are very knowledgeable on the EU and provide much details about how it works. But I personally battled to finish the book because of dryness; also, it shed little light on big picture items like the desire to have their European superstate or the rejection of Europe's Judeo-Christian foundations as part of European identity by key members of the Constitutional committee.
I thought this book was very interesting and well-written. However, this is a book that many professors use to teach students about the European Union, and the author in his introduction even states that this is the reason he wrote the book. In light of this, I am majorly disappointed in the lack of page numbers for this e-book. If you are a student needing this for class and would like to use it to write a paper, don't bother with the Kindle version because it has no page numbers, making it hard to use for citations.
A good and accessible overview of the history, structure, and importance of the European Union, written with Americans in mind.
