While some argue that Jews continue to fare well in Iran, others insist that they enjoy at best second-class citizenship and are muzzled by a repressive regime.

This book provides a worthy introduction and a well thought out assessment of the Middle Eastern dynamics regarding Israel. The end of the piece falls short as the authors attempt to be a bit kind in the concluding commentary. However, the piece is to be applauded for its content. It is a synopsis of difficult topics distilled into a brief assessment and diagnostic formulation. The ball is carried forward by the piece despite the failed attempt at the delicate delivery of the concluding commentary. Who can argue with an attempt at objectivity and balance in the discussion of a topic that is most commonly addressed from a highly subjective and singular view? There are, perhaps, a few who are as well versed or better to do it in consideration that objectivity may be highly improbable given the historic context. Well done! It is time for a part two to this discussion where the authors let it hit hard!
