As school libraries are scaling back on their print resources, I tweak the mysteries in this book to make them Internet based searches. The students love solving the mysteries and they learn some out-of-the-box thinking as well.
Hands-down, this is the absolute best teaching tool I use with my classes in teaching library research skills. It is fun, creative and imaginative but most importantly, it teaches the kids how to search in a fun way using a myriad of resources. There are "mysteries" for grades 3-5 and the lessons range from easy to more difficult. The only thing I can say that is negative is that it would be wonderful to have a second book! Highly recommended!
