I teach pharmacology to nursing students and was looking for a replacement for the pharmacology textbook we current use. Normally I would just ask for an evaluation copy of the textbook but I actually purchased this one ahead of print for my Kindle. If you have ever had to choose a single pharmacology book, you know that their are positives and negatives about every text book. This text is no different but it has a lot of strengths I think are important.1.) Has strong, detailed, clear, and easy to understand physiology/pathophysiology that supports the content on specific medications2.) Contains useful and clear diagrams that support the text3.) Discussions concerning pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics that are clear, relevant, and in depth.... and I would add better than any pharmacology textbook I've looked through (and I think I've seen them all)4.) Very readable and easy to study from (students are going to want to keep this text for the duration of their student careers)What the text does not contain is a lot of practice questions. You can purchase the workbook which would fill that role. I have not purchased/obtained that book, however, and cannot comment on how well the questions therein are written.

I am a nurse practitioner student. I wish I had this book when I went through undergrad for my RN. Lehne's makes difficult concepts easy to understand. The book reviews pertinent physiology related to pharmacology and integrates the 2 in a seamless manner. I couldn't be more pleased with Lehne's.

This book is incredible. It wasn't included as part of our book list for the nursing program, but was purchased additionally. It's amazing. I got an "A" in pharmacology because of this book! It breaks things down into an easily understandable form. This book goes over the pathophysiology before diving into the pharmacology portion, which is fantastic!

Purchased both Kindle and paper version. Kindle is great - the problem, not able to see the tables and figures. So, had to purchase/rent the book. What I like more about Kindle is that it's easier to create notes. In the book, the chapters are less expansive due the formatting.Overall, this book makes pharmacology much easier to understand.

The class sounded scary but I honestly love this textbook! I am in nursing school and the way the authors wrote is exactly what a nurse needs. No uneccessary fluff to sift through in hopes of getting an A. It's short, quick and will be your best friend. I am actually going to end up buying it after I originally rented it.

In depth, a dry read in some areas. Being a fan of Fogoros's Electrophysiologic Testing, I disagree with many points in the section on anti-arrhythmics. It's a thick paperback which makes it hard to get comfortable with.

I barely used this for my Pharm/Patho class. It has good information, but using Mayo Clinic, Nursing Central, or other reliable websites was much easier to find what I needed. A lot of this contained excess information that wasn't helpful or pertinent to what I was studying.

The material is well-organized and interesting to read. I bought the Kindle version which is a little difficult to use - it is hard to access the index and the tables and graphs are difficult to read because of the small size.
