Quick and concise for a paper due tomorrow or just for a quick review of the basics. Its much easier to get a hold of the MLA thing with this book and then move on to the bigger more explanatory ones later. It will fit into your back pocket or even your top shirt pocket. Its that small.
if you are doing any college work that requires mla type of documentation, this little handbook is very helpful. it is not too much information and it gives important updated info for internet based works cited.
This handy, pocket-sized reference is something that everyone in college (and even high school) should own. It has made life much easier during academic writing. Here are the reasons I love it, and why you will, too:-It is small (about the size of an index card and 1/4" thick). It's easy to keep with your laptop, books, or anything else.-It's concise and easy to find what you're looking for. The entire guide is pretty much written in bullet points. When knocking out a "works cited" page, for instance, it provides easy, clear directions and examples to follow.-It's yellow, meaning if you accidentally leave it out during an all-night writing extravaganza, you can quickly locate it.-It follows the MLA 7th edition (most recent as of 2011)-It provides little tables and reference points for things like what to record from a book when doing research.I give it four stars because it pretty much only covers four topics. The first part offers general guidelines (such as "information to record"), the second covers formatting (like margins), the third covers in-text citation, and the fourth covers "works cited" guidelines. 90% of the time, this is all that anyone needs. Also, the cover is made of a thicker card stock instead of something more durable (or even laminated card stock). If you carry this around, it will not be able to take years of abuse.This guide is NOT a comprehensive explanation to all things MLA. It is simply a reference tool. I love this thing so much that I have even suggested that my professor put it on his "recommended readings" list.
This MLA Handbook is a great resource to have in hand while writing a bibliography. I referred to it quite often to make sure I was correctly documenting my sources.
This book-let of 54 pages fell apart one of the first times I used it. When I found it online, I thought I had found a real bargain, but ALAS, I did not. I'm afraid I got taken -- instead of a handbook for Modern Language Association for formatting and documentation, I got a "pamphlet" that had only minimal examples, and as I said, fell apart.
Quick delivery and good transaction. The book was actually "pocket" sized. So much smaller than I expected but it is very useful in its easy formatting and description. Good for broad use. Not detailed enough for classroom.
This is the perfect book! Step-by-step instructions and examples. It goes everywhere! Good for students in middle school tohelp them learn all abut research papers! I'vebeen using it in my classroom for 5 years!
I had a professor recommend this a few years ago. It's basically an ultra-condensed MLA, with only the material that is actually relevant to 99% of undergrad papers. It's fantastic and tiny and almost always sat in my backpack.
