Drawn in the Winkel Tripel projection, distortions are minimized and unlike many other World maps, Greenland is show the same size as Argentina and not as the size of all of South America.Thousands of place names are carefully and artistically placed on the map to maintain legibility even in the heavily populated areas of Europe, Asia and the Middle East. Details include clearly defined international boundaries, cities, physical features, rivers, and ocean floor features. We wanted a large wall map that would be durable enough to withstand kids touching it, but which wouldn't cost a fortune. This map was the perfect option. It is definitely large -- it doesn't take up the whole wall, but it is WAY bigger than a typical poster. The lamination is well done, which should keep the map protected. It is very shiny, so if you are putting it up in a room that gets a lot of direct sunlight you will want to take that into consideration.
The map was exactly what I was looking for. I bought it to hang on our Sunday School wall to help the children see where missionaries we support are working. It is colorful and looks nice. I was confused by some reviews that said it came in multiple pieces. It came in one piece and was easy to hang on the wall.
This is an excellent world map. Working in education I became accustomed to having a variety of world maps around me. I never realized how often I referenced one until I retired. After much searching I chose this one based on the reviews, the size, and the "zoom" technique of the map displayed so I could see the details before purchasing. The map arrived the next day and I was/am impressed by everything. It's perfectly laminated, came rolled securely in a plastic sleeve and was packed well in a cardboard shipping tube with paper stuffing to hold it in place. (Great job, packer!) The map itself is just the right color and the text is sharp and easy to read. Now I can re-file the folded world map that came in my National Geographic Magazine and enjoy this larger version.
The map came through  in a big box with lots of packing so there wasn't a dent on it. The map itself is very nicely laminated. Since we are a military family I bought it to help my daughter understand that all of our family live in different places and sometimes daddy is on the other side of the world. The lamination allows us to put pictures of family near there locations and move them around when need be. Wish the land areas were a little bigger but no big deal. It serves its purpose well.
With much of the news being International, having a map behind you in your Home office makes things alittle smoother? I mean, you hear of something, turn around and Walla? you know where it is. Very educational for all ages too...Well made and I like it.
This World Classic Wall Map will enable my grandchildren to see where their father is deployed and where their relatives live. I was a bit disappointed that the map was printed on flimsy paper and thought it would be more durable. The map is going to be framed and hung on the wall so it won't get torn.
This is a beautiful map and the information is everything you'd expect from a physical map (so if you expect to country delineations, choose something else). There isn't any glare and the it is printed on relatively sturdy paper material. I'd recommend this product.
The map came within a day or two. It was nice and big, without being overwhelming. Nicely laminated, suitable for hanging on my office wall. I love it!
